In the National consultation on Socio-Economic Justice : Local Justice System and role of Gram- Kachhari organized by Koshish Charitable Trust in collaboration with Anugrah Naryan Sinha Institute of Social Studies, SUTRA and Centre for Social Justice and supported by Ford Foundation, UK Aid and Oxfam India, held in the A.N. Sinha Institute on 22nd January, 2015, issues pertaining to the promotion of Gram-Kachhari as an integral part of the Judicial System, first appellant court at local level, increase in the jurisdiction of Gram-Kachhari, strengthening of Gram-Kachhari, proper training of Sarpanchs, Panchs and Nayay-Mitra, infrastructure and documentation of justice delivery process and cases, raise confidence of the people in the Gram-Kachhari, dignified honorarium for Sarpanch, Ward Panch, Sachiv & Nyay Mitra etc were deliberated upon by legal experts, activists, sociologist, members of I-NGOs and NGOs and members of Gram-Kachahari (Sarpanch and Ward Panch).
Among the eminent speakers were Shruti Pandey from Ford Foundation, Seema Mishra and Abha Singhal Joshi- legal experts, D. M Deewakar, Director of the A.N. Sinha Institute, Rupesh from Koshish, Subhash Mendapurkar from SUTRA, Nupur Sinha (legal experts) from CSJ, Pravind Kumar Praveen, Regional Manager of Oxfam India, Secretary of the Bihar State Legal Service Authority, Government of Bihar, representative of the Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Bihar, Dhruva Narayan from Janam Foundation, I-NGOs, NGOs and representative of other organization from 5 states – Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Hariyana, Madhya Pradesh & Bihar. Other participants include Shraddha, Project coordinator, Prabhakar, Project coordinator of Koshish, Ritwij, community mobilizers of Koshish, students, volunteers, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Nayay-Mitra from different districts.
